CBSE defers class 10 & 12 Exam Dates on account of election schedules clashing with Exam dates

Considering the election to be held in five states in India, Central Board of School Education (CBSE) has issued notification to defer the examination dates falling before March 11. Election results are scheduled to be declared on March 11. Accordingly, CBSE has postponed examinations whose dates where before March 11.

Usually, CBSE conducts its examination from March 1. Earlier it had written to Election Commission, requesting it to consider its request that Exams are to be held from March 1 and lakhs of students will be appearing in it. However, on January 4, Election Commission declared the election schedules and accordingly, elections are to be held on March 8 in some constituencies of Uttar Pradesh and Manipur.

Considering the election dates, CBSE has issued statement that no exams will be conducted on 4,8 and 11 March. It also mentioned that with implementation of IT for aiding faster results, there won’t be any delay in timing of results.
